LL.B Admission 2027 in Faisalabad: A Month-by-Month Timeline for Intermediate Students
If you are in your second year of intermediate and hoping to start LL.B in 2027, the admission process will feel spread out. There is the Law Admission Test (LAT), your board exams, the result, the college application and finally the first semester. Each step has its own date, and missing one can push your start back by a full year.
This guide sets out a realistic month-by-month plan for LL.B admission 2027 in Faisalabad. It is built on how the 2026 cycle actually ran: the Higher Education Commission (HEC) held several LAT rounds through the year, Pasban Law College opened its 2026 admissions in April, and the four-year LL.B under the University of the Punjab runs on the semester system. The exact 2027 dates have not been announced yet, so treat the months below as a planning frame and check every date against the official notice when it appears.
The short answer: plan backward from the LAT
The step that decides most of your timeline is the LAT. Every applicant to an LL.B program at an HEC- or Pakistan Bar Council-recognized institution must pass it, and the pass mark is 50 out of 100. You can sit it while you are still waiting for your intermediate result.
At Pasban Law College, the current admission criteria ask for at least 45 percent marks in intermediate or an equivalent qualification and at least 50 percent in the HEC LAT, subject to the University of the Punjab's admission regulations. So your plan has two tracks running side by side: your board exams and the LAT. The goal is to have a passed LAT result in hand before the admission window you are aiming for closes.
How the LAT ran in 2026, and what that suggests for 2027
In 2026, HEC announced a schedule with five LAT rounds across the year. The later rounds looked like this:
Third LAT: registration closed May 25, test on June 21, results on August 3.
Fourth LAT: registration closed August 10, test on September 6, results on October 16.
Fifth LAT: registration closed October 20, test on November 15, results on December 24.
Two points matter for your planning. First, there is a gap of roughly six to seven weeks between a test and its result. Second, registration closes about four weeks before each test. If you wait for a round's registration to close before deciding, you have already lost that round.
HEC may change the number of rounds, the format or the dates for 2027. The test currently covers English, general knowledge, Islamic studies, Pakistan studies, Urdu and basic mathematics, with an essay and a personal statement, so a few months of steady preparation is enough for most students. Our LAT preparation guide explains the subjects in more detail.

A month-by-month plan for the 2027 intake
The plan below assumes you are in second-year intermediate in 2026–27 and want to join the first LL.B semester of 2027. Adjust it if your board's exam dates or HEC's announced rounds fall differently.
October to December 2026: decide and start preparing
Use these months to make the decision properly rather than rushing it in summer. Talk to your family about cost, travel and whether law suits your interests. Read about the four-year program so you know what you are signing up for.
Start LAT preparation in small pieces: 20 to 30 minutes a day on English vocabulary and reading, and a few general knowledge topics each week. If HEC announces a round for early 2027, note its registration deadline straight away.
January to February 2027: first LAT attempt, if a round is offered
If HEC holds a round in the first quarter of 2027, consider sitting it. An early attempt has three advantages: you see the real paper, your result arrives before your board exams, and if you do not reach 50 you still have later rounds.
Do not let the LAT take over these months, though. Your intermediate marks also count toward eligibility and merit, and pre-board exams usually fall in this period.
March to May 2027: board exams come first
Punjab's intermediate annual exams are generally held in spring. Put LAT preparation on light maintenance during exam weeks. Use any free days afterward to gather documents: your CNIC or B-Form, matric certificate, photographs and a character certificate from your current institution.
This is also the time to shortlist colleges. Check affiliation with the University of the Punjab, the program structure and the fee schedule from each college's own admissions page. In 2026, Pasban Law College announced its LL.B admissions in April, so keep an eye on the admissions page from spring onward.
June to August 2027: the main LAT window
For many students, the mid-year LAT round is the main attempt, because board exams are over and the result usually arrives before the autumn admission rush. In 2026, the June round's results came out in early August.
Register as soon as HEC opens the round. Keep your login details, consumer number for the fee and roll number slip in one folder. Our guide to what to do in the seven days after your LAT result explains how to turn a result into a complete application.
August to October 2027: results, applications and merit
Intermediate results from Punjab's boards are usually announced in late summer. Once you have both your result and a passed LAT, submit your application within the window the college announces. Read every date in the notice together with the action attached to it: the application deadline, any merit list, the fee payment date and the class start date are separate steps.
If you have not yet passed the LAT, check whether a later round's result will arrive before the admission window closes. Ask the college directly rather than guessing, because the answer depends on the dates in that year's notice.
October to December 2027: joining and the first semester
Once your admission is confirmed and the fee is paid, the semester begins on the date in the college's notice. Use the weeks before classes to get your documents attested, plan your daily commute and settle a weekly routine. Keep rereading the notice as well: our guide on how to check an LL.B admissions notice shows how to spot follow-up steps, such as fee or document deadlines, that come after the merit list.
What can go wrong, and how to protect your timeline
Most delays come from a few avoidable problems:
Registering late for the LAT. Registration closes weeks before the test. Put each deadline in your phone the day the round is announced.
Name or date-of-birth mismatches. Your CNIC or B-Form, matric certificate, intermediate documents and LAT registration must match. Fix any difference before you apply.
Relying on last year's dates. A forwarded image from 2026 is not a 2027 notice. Always check the issuing body, the session and the update date.
Waiting for a single LAT attempt. If your only attempt is the last round of the year, a result below 50 can cost you the intake.
Missing the fee or document step. Being on a merit list is not the same as being admitted. Complete every stated step by its date.
A simple checklist to keep on your phone
Write down every HEC LAT round for 2027 as soon as it is announced, with its registration deadline, test date and result date.
Choose your main LAT round and one backup round.
Keep a document folder with your CNIC or B-Form, certificates, photographs and LAT details.
Note your board's exam and result dates.
Shortlist colleges and save each one's current admission notice.
Apply as soon as you have both results, and complete fee and document steps on time.
Frequently asked questions
Can I take the LAT before my intermediate result is announced?
Yes. HEC's 2026 announcements allowed students who had completed HSSC or an equivalent, or who were awaiting results, to apply for the LAT. Taking it early gives you a result in hand when admissions open.
What marks do I need for LL.B admission at Pasban Law College?
The current criteria ask for at least 45 percent in intermediate or an equivalent qualification and at least 50 percent in the HEC LAT, subject to the University of the Punjab's regulations. Confirm the criteria again for the 2027 intake, because policies can change.
When will the 2027 LL.B admission dates be announced?
They had not been announced when this guide was written in October 2026. In 2026, Pasban Law College opened admissions in April, and HEC published its LAT schedule early in the year. Watch both for the 2027 announcements.
Starting LL.B in 2027 is mostly a matter of not letting the LAT and your board exams collide. Decide early, sit the LAT when it suits your exam calendar, keep one backup round, and keep your documents ready. When the 2027 notices appear, compare them with this plan and adjust the months to the official dates.
About this guide: the points in this article were checked in October 2026 against HEC's announced 2026 LAT schedule and pass mark, and Pasban Law College's current published admission criteria. The 2027 dates were not yet available, so the month ranges are a planning guide, not official dates.
